Jenkins, the fastest-selling soprano of all time, beats Lesley Garrett to earn the top spot in a joint poll run by Classic FM and Radio Times. Kiri te Kanawa came third base, followed by Maria Callas at fourth part position and Renee Fleming at fifth.
Myleene Klass, who presents on Classic FM, described Welsh mezzo-soprano Jenkins, world Health Organization sold millions of classical albums world-wide.
